David Whisenant was the emcee of the 2nd Annual Buzz Word Spelling Bee on International Literacy Day, September 8, 2011. In David’s honor, the Cabarrus Literacy Council subscribed to the News For You newspaper which is a weekly newspaper for new adult readers. Currently, the tutors and students are reading the hard copy of the newspaper and it is also available on line. The on line version of News for You allows students to hear a sentence of the newspaper read to them as well. Thank you, David for your tireless support and advocacy of literacy.
